What Counts as a Dental Emergency?
Not sure if what you're dealing with needs urgent care? Here are some of the most common reasons our patients reach out:
- A knocked-out or badly loosened tooth
- Severe or sudden tooth pain
- A cracked, chipped, or broken tooth
- A lost filling or crown
- Swelling, an abscess, or signs of infection
- Bleeding that won't stop

What to Expect When You Call
We understand that when you're in pain, you want answers, not a runaround. Here's what you can count on from us:
We prioritize emergency calls and will always do our best to get you in as quickly as our schedule allows. While we can't guarantee a same-day or weekend appointment every time, we work hard to see emergency patients as soon as possible, often within a day or two, and we'll never leave you without guidance in the meantime. If you reach out and we're not able to see you right away, we'll get you the next available appointment and offer advice on how to manage things until then.
Your comfort and peace of mind matter to us just as much on your worst dental day as they do on a routine visit.
When to Seek Emergency Room Care
Most dental emergencies can be handled right here in our office, but a few situations need immediate medical attention. Please go to your nearest emergency room or call 911 if you're experiencing:
- Swelling that is affecting your ability to breathe or swallow
- Uncontrollable bleeding
- A jaw injury you suspect may be broken

Frequently Asked Dental Emergency Questions
Do you offer same-day emergency appointments?
We do our best to see emergency patients the same day whenever our schedule allows. If we're not able to fit you in right away, we'll always find you the very next available appointment and help you manage things until then.
Are you open on weekends?
Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday. If your emergency happens outside of those hours, give us a call. We'll get you scheduled for the earliest appointment available and offer guidance in the meantime.
What should I do while I wait for my appointment?
Call us first. Depending on what's going on, we may recommend over-the-counter pain relief, a cold compress, or other simple steps to keep you comfortable until we can see you.
